How to take care of your pearls
Pearls are better preserved if worn on the skin, in storage they should lie on something soft and not together with something that might scratch the surface of it.
Do not store pearls in airtight compartments, because they might dry out and crack.
Once in a while, the pearls should be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth.
If you don’t very often use your pearls, you can moister them, to prevent them from drying out.
Restring the pearls every other year. The silk thread ages, and without restringing, the thread runs a risk of breaking.
Don’t place warm pearls on cold surfaces, as the core might crack from the sudden change in temperature.
Avoid spraying perfume and hairspray directly on the pearls.
Note: All dyed pearls can change colour.
