PERIDOT is a beautiful, green gem and is often cut the same way as crystals and diamonds, with its facetted edges. The gem has been around for a long time. Necklaces containing the gem have been found in Egypt, as old as the early second millennium B.C., and only a few years ago the stone was discovered in the Kashmir region.
The ancient Romans called the peridot the “Evening Emerald” due to its beautiful, shifting green colour.
