CRYSTAL is a type of quartz, most commonly known as Rock Crystal. The name “crystal” comes from the Greek word for frozen, since it in ancient times was believed that crystal in fact was made of ice. The best crystal has the colourless and shimmering quality of water. Although this is relatively common, large specimens are not, which is the reason why crystal balls nowadays are made of glass, not quartz.
Crystal often has white streaks, which isn’t always as appreciated. Some believe that wearing quartz crystals benefits a person’s health and spiritual wellbeing.
