CITRINE. Its name comes from the French word for lemon, “citron”, because of its common lemon yellow colour. This colour also makes it popular together with gold jewels, since the shades of colour blend together so well. In ancient times, citrine was believed to protect the wearer against snake venom and evil thoughts.
The colour of this gem can vary from lemon yellow to a deeper orange yellow, and citrine can be found mainly in Brazil.
