AGATE is a gemstone very creatively striped by nature, as it forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colours and textures. These bands that are typical for agates resemble those of a tree trunk, and they can sometimes look like eyes, scallops or even a landscape with trees. Agate was highly valued in ancient times, and was said to quench thirst and protect from fevers, and Persian magicians used them to divert storms.
Agate is found in Brazil and Germany, for example.
